Professional Background
Simon is an experienced Wills and Probate lawyer. He joined Corbett Le Quesne in March 2021 as Head of Private Client having previously worked at Ogier (Jersey) LLP in their specialist trust advisory team. Prior to that he worked at Stone King LLP in Bath and London specialising in cross border estate planning, tax and estate administration.
Simon is a trusted adviser to his clients and has considerable experience helping individuals and families with their estate and inter-generational succession planning, making good use of his specialist knowledge. Simon has a down to earth approach and strives to provide clients with peace of mind through clear advice and pragmatic solutions.
As well as specialising in Wills and Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney, Simon has routinely acted for foreign lawyers, trust companies and charities. He has also provided professional training in respect of cross border estate planning, probate and estate administration and mental capacity.
He has written several articles and featured on Radio 4 in a report focusing on the EU Succession Regulation and the complexity of private international law when dealing with the succession of assets situate in the EU by a non-resident.
Simon is President of the Jersey International Legal Association
Professional Qualifications
Simon qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales in 2012.
Simon attended Northumbria University and obtained LLB (Hons) 2:1
Simon holds the STEP Advanced Certificate in Cross Border Estates qualification. and received a STEP Worldwide Excellence Award and a special CLT International Exceptional Performance Award having received the highest mark ever in any STEP examination anywhere in the world.
Simon is a member of the European Association of Private International Law (EAPIL).
