Kate Donohue

Professional Background

Kate joined Corbett Le Quesne in 2022. She qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and was granted Law Society Family Accreditation in 2015. She worked in the UK for many years rising to regional head of the Family Law at Simson Millar. Kate was granted Higher Rights of Audience (Civil) in 2016 and qualified as an English Barrister in 2017. Kate is still a tenant at 18 St John Street Chambers. Kate is ranked as a Leading Junior Counsel by the prestigious Legal 500. 

Kate was sworn in as a Jersey Advocate in January 2023. In 2021 she received the Family Law Award for achieving the highest marks in the Jersey Law Course Examinations. 

On 19 April 2023 Kate Donohue was appointed to the Public Law Children Panel. Members of the children panel represent individuals involved in public law proceedings when the Court is making decisions regarding the safety and welfare of children and young people who are most at risk. 

Kate can advise on all aspects of family law. Kate regularly advises and acts on private and public law applications including Care proceedings, Residence, Contact, Prohibited Steps and Specific Issue Orders. She has represented a number of clients with niche business interests requiring complex business valuations as well as high value cases with illiquid assets.
