Family law work experience

We were recently joined by a University student wanting to gain some work experience in family law. This is her feedback from her time with us: 

"I was lucky enough to have one week of work experience at Corbett Le Quesne. Having just finished my 2^nd year of University studying law it was a really great experience which allowed me to see law in a professional environment and has confirmed what I would like to do after my degree. It was a really calm and welcoming environment, everyone is super nice and I didn’t hesitate to ask questions if something got confusing. I understand everyone working here is really busy so I am really appreciative of their time, effort and patience during my time there, it really made me feel comfortable.

I was upstairs in the Family department completing various jobs, everyone helped me use LawWare and I became familiar with it very quickly which allowed me to understand the type of things they have to deal with. I was extremely lucky to be able to go to the Royal Court to see a public law children hearing which was really eye opening and fascinating watching it in person rather than hearing about it during lectures. Dropping and picking up documents allowed me to visit the Family Court too which expanded my knowledge on communication between lawyers and courts.

I now have an even bigger idea of my future plans regarding my law career as I have an idea of further steps I would like to take when I finish my law degree. I greatly appreciate the team at Corbett Le Quesne for allowing me to have this opportunity."
