Third time’s a charm – Family Law Champion Finalist for third year running
Lizzie Keogh, Office Manager at Corbett Le Quesne receives Family Law Award Shortlisting
It is an unusual part of an office manager’s job to arrange international conferences but that is exactly what Lizzie Keogh does and she has been recognised for the value that offers family lawyers in the UK and beyond with this shortlisting.
Advocate Corbett commented “Lizzie works inordinately hard to produce two fantastic international family law conferences every year. People travel to Jersey from around the world and the coming together of experts really does make a positive difference to the family law community. At our Child Law Conference in March, senior judiciary in Jersey met with the key note speaker, Lord Justice Peter Jackson, to discuss the introduction of specialist Family Drug and Alcohol Courts in Jersey. The Family Foundation, a service run by the Family Court which helps families resolve disputes was set up following discussions between a local judge and a visiting key note speaker at a previous conference. So the value of these events cannot be underestimated and Lizzie’s contribution in arranging these events has been recognised an amazing three years in a row.”
Lizzie said “I am over the moon to have been shortlisted for a third year and it’s a great honour to be recognised for something that I’m so passionate about. The fact that there’s a category for people like me who work in the legal industry but are not qualified lawyers shows that recognition is being given to people who are rarely in the limelight.”
“It is wonderful to welcome our delegates who have embraced Jersey and taken our little island to their hearts. Our conferences bring guests to the island in the shoulder months, often staying for multiple nights and making the most of local eateries. Great friendships have been made on the back of our events and I know how thrilled the CLQ conference family is with my shortlisting.”
