CLQ sign up to the LGBTQ+ Rainbow Mark

The Rainbow Mark was launched in Jersey on the 18th of June 2025.
The Rainbow Mark serves as a clear indicator, displayed through window stickers and digital icons, that participating organizations are LGBTQ+ friendly and dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment. It's a kitemark initiative for a wide range of public-facing establishments, including shops, salons, cafes, bars, restaurants, gyms, and nightclubs – essentially any venue where the public interacts as customers or clients.
The program is built upon five core principles, ensuring a consistent and meaningful commitment to inclusion:
- Providing a welcoming environment and maintaining best practice for the LGBTQ+ community.
- Ensuring LGBTQ+ customers, clients, and staff feel valued, protected, and empowered to be authentic.
- Using inclusive and respectful language to ensure comfort for everyone.
- Pledging to actively address any discriminatory behaviour or language.
- Agreeing to contact Liberate for advice and best practice when addressing issues of discrimination or intolerance toward LGBTQ+ individuals.
Advocate Corbett commented "This is a fantastic and important initiative and we are proud to show that we are fully in support of these principles. I would say we have always acted in accordance with them and indeed we have been very active in our support of legal reform to ensure equality for all. Being able to demonstrate to the world that we welcome the LGBTQ+ community is so important though as it may provide reassurance to someone who is nervous to approach us when they really need our help. We would encourage as many businesses as possible to sign up."
