Advocate Corbett has been invited by David Lister, a very experienced family lawyer and speaker, to give a talk to the lawyers at Vardags on the topic of Jersey family law with particular focus on enforcement issues.

Vardags is a famous law firm in London. They work exclusively on high net worth cases and their President, Ayesha Vardag has been quoted by the BBC as being the “Diva of Divorce For The Super Rich” and is regularly described as London's best divorce lawyer. They have an in house financial forensics team, a fertility and surrogacy department and also deal with international child relocation, child abduction, and prenuptial agreements.

Advocate Corbett commented "It is an honour to be invited to speak with the lawyers at Vargags. They have an excellent reputation and have dealt with some of the leading family law cases. They pride themselves on their discretion and ability to handle the media which can be a huge concern for the super rich. I am looking forward to meeting them at their stunning offices in London."

Both David and Ayesha are IAFL fellows. Barbara is the only practising Jersey lawyer who has been accepted as an IAFL fellow.

The Legal 500 says of Vardags: "Vardags is a leading, law-changing, blue-chip law firm, specialising in high stakes, complex, and international cases for high-net-worth individuals and their companies. ‘Britain’s top divorce lawyer’ Ayesha Vardag leads a team of the country’s best legal minds. The firm has taken City quality into the private sphere, and become one of the very few UK law firms called upon to advise heads of state, on matters of both English and international law. The firm’s lawyers are frequently called upon as experts on the biggest cases and legal issues of the day, by outlets such as BBC News, CNN, the Today Programme, and Newsnight."

Advocate Corbett said "Working with lawyers of this calibre is not only fascinating but it can also be beneficial to our clients when we have to instruct lawyers in London. I will be talking to them about how Jersey law differs from the law in the UK but also about enforcement where there are assets in Jersey."
