Advocate Nicholas Le Quesne joined a panel of experts to discuss fertility issues in Jersey and how people could get the help they needed, with a particular focus on the LGBTQ+ community. Advocate Le Quesne is a governor for the charity and as a family lawyer he also advises clients on fertility law. Fertility law includes assisted reproductive technologies, surrogacy and donor conception. This may include assisting clients navigating their way to consenting to treatment, establishing legal parentage and addressing any issues that arise from fertility disputes. Sometimes adoption is the path chosen and this also requires careful consideration of the law.
The panel took a closer look at the paths to parenthood for LGBTQ+ people in the island. They discussed the various barriers that people still face and possible solutions. You can watch the video by clicking this link:
